I would highly recommend a visit to Guilin and Yangshuo. My husband and I were there in Nov. 2010 and really enjoyed it. While we were there we used the services of Michelle of www.topleveltour.com. I had corresponded with Michelle quite a bit before our departure to come up with an itinerary that suited our interests. He was not only accommodating to our requests, but was also very timely in his responses and his prices were also very fair. Guilin/Yangshuo was one of our final stops on our entire trip so by the time we had arrived in Guilin we had experienced a variety of different tour guides and Michelle was one of the best. He was informative with out being overbearing, he was punctual and also did not try to herd us into factory visits - something other tour companies should take note of.

We would highly recommend the services of Top Level Tour and would use its services if we were to return to this lovely area of China. There are many things to do in this area but here are a few things that you should not miss if going to Guilin & Yangshuo - Day trip to the Longji Rice Terraces!!!; Do a 1 hour sunrise cruise on the Li River from Yangshou rather than the 4-6 hour boat trip from Guilin to Yangshuo - after the boat trip Michelle will take you walking through some rural towns where you get a good sense of Chinese daily life (we came upon the most colorful funeral procession in Old Fuli town complete with fireworks and dragons).
